Hello, I'm Keegan Quinn.
About Me
Professionally, I am a software and systems consultant. Personally, I'm a strongly-opinionated Portlander with a passion for music and a taste for great beer. If you'd like to know more about me, check out my site.
I was actively involved in PersonalTelco from about 2000 to 2007, building and deploying dozens of nodes and serving in an official capacity as the project's Network Engineer during DarrinEden's term as president. I moved to San Diego in 2008, and grew apart from the project during that time, but in 2011 I returned to Portland and began getting reacquainted with the project.
In 2011, I was elected to the Board of Directors of the Personal Telco Project. I served three consecutive terms, ending in 2017 when JasonBergstrom replaced me. As of 2019, I'm no longer particularly active at meetings or discussions, but I still spend a fair amount of time working on CwnmyrProject.
Projects
(in no particular order)
I built, installed and maintained many PersonalTelco nodes.
I created packages of NoCatSplash and NoCatAuth for Debian GNU/Linux.
I put together the NewCloneArmyInstallMethodology and later the Builder software (see UsingBuilderHowTo), to simplify and standardize PC-based node installations.
- I recorded, broadcasted and distributed audio from the monthly meetings between January 2003 and mid-2004.
I developed CwnmyrProject open-source community network management software.
I operate NodeQuinn and NodeKeegan.
I helped out at the PersonalTelco booth at the MississippiStreetFair in 2005, and again in 2011.
Along with RussellSenior, I manned the PersonalTelco booth at OSCON 2011.
