Also rearranging my internal network quite a bit. HowardBarney of Bayhouse fabricated an antenna bracket for the new mast. --RussellSenior * 2011-01-12: Started working on deploying a replacement for the WDS/MIT-roofnet hybrid that has been here for several years. Last night, replaced the software on the rooftop devices with OpenWrt and Batman-Adv, a layer-2 mesh. Had some bumps during the process, primarily the breaking of the old WDS network when I upgraded to the most recent AirOS version. Had to drive down and recover it from the curb to get access to the admin interface. The ubiquiti nanostation5 on Jerry's roof probably ought to be re-aimed again and attached more securely so it doesn't slip on the mast so much. Next step is to replace the MIT Roofnet part. Might be possible to do that remotely, will investigate. --RussellSenior * 2006-10-31: Used three stages of scaffolding to mount a two-radio metrix on a gable-end mount. * 2005-10-20: Finally setup the ESSID as www.personaltelco.net after having an open node for a few years. === Notes === * [[http://www.personaltelco.net/~russell/stumbler/klickitat.png|approximate roof-mounted antenna coverage]] * 2005-10: Also experimenting with a roofnet using [[NetgearWgt634u]]s. ---- [CategoryNode][CategoryPersonalTelco]
