Agenda
- Pick location for next weekly
- Russell plays with hardware:
- recovered or rebuilt (mostly) a stock of half-a-dozen or so nucabs that had been pulled for various problems, including:
the old NodePioneerSquare, with the Senao 200 mW radio, but without the standard "builder" node goodies so far
- a few were recovered intact, because the error did not require rebuilding from scratch
- a few are new debian etch installs that would need more love to become standard node captive portal boxes
- reconstructed a crashbox for wifi driver and hardware testing (originally set up to debug the missnet). Currently plugged in are one of the 10 netgear WG311T pci card radios we have for use as client devices on mississippi:
- atheros radio
- 30 mW
- rp-sma connector (compatible with those nice, inexpensive 9 dBi suction-cup patch antennas)
- could be put into an old nucab box or freek box as a neighborhood bridge
- we have 20 netgear pcmcia cards that currently do not have working linux drivers. we need a plan to distribute these things somewhere other than a box on the top of my bedroom dresser. preferably somewhere they will do someone some good.
- recovered or rebuilt (mostly) a stock of half-a-dozen or so nucabs that had been pulled for various problems, including:
- Need to outline what needs saying to the Boise Neighborhood Association meeting next monday. If anyone wants to come along for moral and intellectual support, that would be cool as well.
- Also, need to draft some material very soon to go into the quarterly Boise Voice, distributed to all neighborhood residents.
Outage on MissNet at lower modulation rate, maybe counterproductive.
Address the hardware grant/loan request from AaronBaer.
