What is Knoppix

KNOPPIX is a bootable CD with a collection of GNU/Linux software, automatic hardware detection, and support for many graphics cards, sound cards, SCSI and USB devices and other peripherals. KNOPPIX can be used as a Linux demo, educational CD, rescue system, or adapted and used as a platform for commercial software product demos. It is not necessary to install anything on a hard disk. Due to on-the-fly decompression, the CD can have up to 2 GB of executable software installed on it.

How it can benefit the Personal Telco?

By crafting a single CD distro of a bootable OS complete with the "official" PTP node setup (NoCatAuth, NodeSplashPages, SSID, port configuring, etc.) users will be able to have a PTP node up by simply booting the CD on most any wireless equiped x86 box.

The PTP Knoppix CD will boot up unattneded as a fully running PTP node with no cat, the PTP splash page, apache running and able to allow users to get connected.
