Agenda:

  • Are we as a group going to exclude the users of commercial access points even though these commercial access points meet all the *functional* requirements of the mesh network design? (round to five min intervals, write length of time spent on item)
    • List what the functional requirements are needed to place an access point on the PTP network. If this can not be done in 10 minutes, then assign a team to do research and present findings to the next weekly meeting.
    • The Functional requirements findings should be presented for discussion and acceptence by vote during the next monthly meeting.
  • Discuss how decisions about network design are determined and finalized for adoption by PTP.
    • If this can not be done in 10 minutes, then assign a team to do research and present findings to the next weekly meeting.
  • NoCat Splash page

    • The splash page needs revisions and updates. A team needs to work on this so that it can be distributed on Soekris boxes.
      • Fix the CSS so that it works in IE.
      • Test on all available hand held computers
  • Multi-hop packaging experiment for a high foot traffic locality.

    • Inquire about any new nodes and get the primary person to give updates on progress.

Meeting

  • AaronJohnson was the facilitor and review meeting format.

  • PTP managed node is recommended hardware. The OPs team should only care about.

  • Discuss how decisions about network design are determined and finalized for adoption by PTP.
    • This is an Ops team or under the domain of the ManSig group.

    • There needs to be a group formed to activly work on this question.
    • There is no density yet to consider this question.
    • This issue willl be discussed when there is node density and the ManSig starts up.

    • Later after all action items it was decided by voting that the splash page be compliant with WC3 and a team is formed to make this happer.
    • The team so far has Andrew Woods and if anyone wants to join they can work with him.

    • You pick a district and try to put together 20 boxes and then deploy them.
    • Include a contract for a T-1 so that a AlphaNode is created and then members of the business coop would share the cost.

    • DarrinEden and TomOfferman will work on this and want to propose changing the meeting of the Business Outreach meetings to a later time.

    • Nodes by neighborhoods
      • NodeDB has this function so input has to be input correct
      • It was voted on to do nodes by neighborhood using the Portland City map.
