Ampere hour (abbreviated amp hour or Ah) is a measurement of the amount of electrical energy (amps) flowing in an electrical circuit, times the time that it has flowed. It's often used to describe the capacity of batteries. A milliampere hour (mAh) is 1,000th of an Ah. The ampere is named after Andre Marie Ampere, French physicist (1775-1836).
