Agenda
- Annual Board Meeting
- Appointment of Officers for the next year
- Any new business
- Node notes:
NodeMississippi -- it turns out, Tomas is not the only cable murderer. Whoever stapled the cable the *second* time, ALSO stabbed it to death, although it took a long time to manifest its failure, and it was intermittent. Third time lucky, we hope! We still have some issues on Mississippi: the unifi-ac-mesh on the Commons roof is offline. Need to schedule a time to go investigate, get access to the building and wiring closet again. We crimped the ethernet with crappy cat5 tips which lacked a strong latch, so they might be prone to falling out, we ought to recrimp with better tips at some point.
NodeFreshPot is offline since the end of July.
NodeAlhambra -- adding a couple more APs, another EAP225 outdoor and another Meraki MR24, Russell flashing. Also got our "good" crimpers back and the cat6-with-sleave tips.
AlternativeShelterNetwork -- Russell posted a note to their mailing list suggesting to plan in communications conduit to any new trenching, pointing out its *MUCH* *CHEAPER* if you do it with forethought, rather than trying to retrofit, and offering to consult on better practices.
Russell recycled about 100 lbs of Sealed Lead-Acid batteries, many of which dated from the MetroFi network, but which had "gone bad" over time. Learned afterwards that they may have had some cash value, but not upset to not have them anymore.
Another recycling task still on the agenda is to unload some more aluminum (the tall masts) from the MetroFi network which have been stacked on the floor of Russell's basement for some time.
Dell PowerEdge 1950 on its way to FreeGeek, minus its hard disk. Thanks to BenjaminFoote for the kind donation!
