Agenda
- Node notes:
NodeFreshPot has been turned back on after a long hiatus (it was providing a backdoor into the NodeMississippi network via the Ballroom roof, however the network on the roof there seems to have disappeared in early December. We should see if the gear is still on the roof and stuff just got unplugged. Also need to contact CapitalPDX to ask wtf is going on and why they never replied to my emails.
NodeAnnapurna is having some trouble with some ethernet runs, still not completely clear what the problem is. 14 MR24s have been plugged in.
- Some of our gateways have inexplicably not been reporting leases in their logs. Restarting dnsmasq seems to fix it. Mystery!
- Based on a recommendation on the PLUG list, Russell ordered some 802.11ac enterprise gear to try out.
- Received another moderately chunky donation, $40! Thanks, donor!
- ARPA Grant update
Not much news, except some efforts to meeting up with Rebecca (CoP) and Kayla (StreetRoots), looking like next week.
- No response yet to our counter offer
- Emails have been (eventually) forwarded to Ted on his holiday
- Add more things!
Notes
- Node notes:
NodeMississippi - Laundry and Ballroom roof notes went away about midday December 6th
NodeLuckyLabNW - is by Capitol Maintenance office - open 9-4 weekdays, lists a number on the front door
NodeAnnapurna - 3 cables aren't working, proximity in hole question? gateway is in center so only 3 hops to end
- One cable did have a bad crimp, cables were pulled by installer who left extra feet on the ends to crimp
- No longer any issue post cable fixes
- Lease reporting issue fixed by restarting dnsmasq, unknown cause
- Perhaps related to switchover at boot from logging from public IP to over the tunnel. Maybe a group of power outages from January
- ARPA Grant
- Juan had tried to schedule a meeting, all times in the morning, unresolved without Russell's input
- also question about previous unresolved communication, so Juan will drop out of being required for next meeting
- Ray working on arranging next meeting, Russell/Ted have suggested Wednesdays, also requested Ted be on email chain, curriculum TBD still
- No response to counter offer on $
- Juan had tried to schedule a meeting, all times in the morning, unresolved without Russell's input
- Possibly 14 MR24s available, Russell found different stuff (hard drives) in boxes he thought had APs
- Russell bought some Extreme Network APs to test, they do have 2 ethernet ports (in addition to being 802.11ac)
Next week's meeting is Jitsi, we need to visit NodeLuckyLab again to find out what staff thinks SUCKS means
