Notes
See a photo, here
Russell showed off his PurpleBoxOfDoom, a network stumbler rig in a purple-painted ammo box (which totally looks like a bomb from a hollywood movie).
- Caleb thinks that Russell ought to either make an instructable or submit it to Make magazine.
We talked a little about the status of MissNet and my meeting next week about getting on a tall roof being built there, including a little discussion about what we'd want to install there
We talked about an upcoming workshop on MissNet, probably one of the first two Saturday's in March. BoiseNeighborhoodAssociation is willing to co-sponsor it. Hoping to get an announcement into the BoiseVoice newsletter that goes out mid-Feb.
- The UnwirePDX-Watch.org doings were discussed briefly.
- Various other things were discussed in smaller groups.
CalebPhillips and SteveDavis talked about tower-climbing, among other disconnected things. Steve used to be a tower climbing instructor and has some great stories about big and sketchy towers with high-powered equipment. Someone should ask Steve to give a talk at an upcoming monthly about tower climbing as this is directly related to wireless network deployment and is totally fascinating. His email address is steve (dot) yoga AT yahoo -dot- com.
- We ate delicious if slightly expensive meatloaf sandwiches
Picked the venue for the next weekly, NodeUglyMug in Sellwood
