Maintenance and System Log

• 2013-07-09: Replaced three WAP54G's with Buffalo WZR600DHP's. There is one WAP left, but does not appear to be connected to the ethernet. Also, late in the process, discovered that there seems to be a missing ethernet connection to ap2 (in the meeting space, near the office). It may be a bad crimp, or a bad switch. I am going to try to go back tomorrow to investigate further. --RussellSenior

• 2013-01-25: Update firmware to r35318 with linux kernel version 3.7.4 and IPv6 --RussellSenior

• 2010-12-02: After about a month-long outage due to a switch in ISPs, configured and plugged into a new Integra service (5Mbps down/1.5Mbps up). Crazily, Integra provided a /30 network, which gives us exactly one usable IP address while consuming 4 addresses. I have no idea wtf they were thinking. Anyway, it's configured and working. DNS is currently pointing at 4.2.2.2. --RussellSenior

• 2009-07-30: Dropped in a AlixCab after ongoing complaints about drops. We were intending to replace the box anyway, so this just accelerated things. When I arrived, from my laptop I was able to associate with an AP but did not get DHCP. I contacted Security and they got me into the locked utility room where our NuCab was located. I replaced the NuCab with the AlixCab, rerouted a few power cables (wasn't room for the ac adapter) and it was back in business. I was able to connect to at least one of the AP's.
