Maintenance and System Log

  • 2013-01-06: Updated to r35318 and linux kernel version 3.7.4 and IPv6. --RussellSenior

  • 2010-01-03: At the request of Brian Krejcarek <brian@greengoose.com>, added an /etc/ethers and captive portal whitelisting rule to /usr/nocatauth/bin/initialize.fw to allow his 915MHz bridging device to talk to the greengoose server. It is some kind of bicycle mileage tracking service. --RussellSenior

  • 2009-12-30: Replaced the old NuCab "circe" with AlixCab "fut". Alix is mounted to wall with a single screw&washer. Needs better securing. I said that we'd come back to fix it. --RussellSenior

  • 2009-02-04: Responded to notice that the IP address had changed. Stopped by in the evening, got Integra on the phone and got the new configuration. --RussellSenior

  • 2007-06-26: an old version 1 wrt54g access point stopped working, apparently due to a failing ac adapter. Replaced with an OpenWrt flashed Buffalo WHRG54S in an access-point only configuration. The LAN and WAN ports are all bridged together, and dnsmasq is turned off. Also configured the nucab to allow access for the Buffalo through the captive portal (at the end of /usr/share/nocatauth/gateway/bin/initialize.fw). Nucab remains in place as before here, but the Buffalo could be converted to replace it if necessary or desirable. --RussellSenior

  • 2007-04-20: responding to outage, access point had its cat5 inserted in the WAN port erroneously during a /var-filled-up incident. Corrected and WAN port taped over with a brief injunction against a repetition. --RussellSenior
