Update 2005-10-12: This never happened, nor will it probably ever happen. - CalebPhillips

BartMassey of Portland State University has contacted DaveJensen regarding the PersonalTelco ESSID being used on the outdoor South Park Blocks area of Pubnet; this would free users from having to use the authentication system and reduce load on PSU's NoCatAuth server. Bart also is open to helping us with experiments by providing Internet connectivity and roof access.

DaveJensen will be meeting with Bart around January 20th to determine what level of cooperation is possible; Dave sees it as a great opportunity to increase the standing of the PTP by partnering with the largest university in the state.

Please leave comments, ideas, and wishlist items below.

  • Roof access for permanent long- and short-range links for the building of the PTPnet
  • Possible coordinated efforts with established clubs or other on-campus groups to help build out PTPnet's presence on campus
  • Link with the existing South Park Blocks node hosted at OakTree and possibly the nearby Heaven Cafe, to provide solid seamless roaming coverage throughout the entire area
