Here are some things that we need to do to get the SatelliteTruck ready for operation.
Left To Do:
- Change the tires (store studded tires for winter time)
- Someone said Les Schwab might change them for us?
- Change the oil, check air filters, fluid levels, etc.
Run through DEQ to determine current condition of engine. (it seems it's over weight so we don't have to do this!)
- Clean interior.
- Replace/rekey locks on exterior access panels.
- Find a panel to cover the A/V connectors
- Finish running remainder of tower cable through roof conduit and into van
- Repair/lubricate ladder stops.
- Aquire and mount a weatherproof box on the mast for APs
- First box will be temporary, until the aimer can be built
Remove all unneeded cabling. video, power, etc. (partially done)
- Should leave the cables to the outside A/V panel in place as much as possible
- Figure out where all the antenna cables go and centralize them
- Check electrical connections, and re-do where necessary. (like mast lowering control)
- We might separate the relay panel from the control panel, put the relays in the back and rebuild the control panel
- Need to decide what kind of power busses we want for what purposes
- Check generator mounting, it sounds loose
Mount switch in rack and wire to jacks inside and outside (done, sorta)
- Still need to run cables, etc.
- Design and apply an exterior scheme (part paint, part vinyl sign?)
- Label and document all wiring/cabling.
- Insurance?
Done:
- Purchase the van
- Do a quick once over
- Replace control cable in the coil with CAT5 cables
- Took out LMR-400, zip cord, and two multi-conductor cables
- Put in one of the multi-conductor cables (6 mic cable snake), 4 cat5's and 2 cat3's
- Mount switch in rack
- Actually, installed Don's 24-port 10Mbps hub for now
