• TomHiggins: Client Boxes: The use of machines that are not useful as AP's. Consensus is that it's a good idea. There is a need for such machines to be able to load X.

Continuing Business

• MusashiHybrid: NewCloneArmyBox standard Questions. See NewCloneArmyInstallMethodology. MusashiHybrid and KeeganQuinn are working on finishing documentation. KeeganQuinn wants to actually work on this documentation during the meeting. KeeganQuinn says an automated install image is about a month away.

The wonderfull people at Centric events who run ITEC have very kindly donated us space and an oppertunity to make a good show of our deeds at ITEC Portland 2003

• KeeganQuinn: The P-Com scoop. What is it good for and how does it work?

LOS links, Really fast , They are large and needs space , the outdoor units are heavy and wont fit on old masts. The gear is 38-40 ghz very LOS but lots of bandwidth capacity. The radio is part of the outdor unit so there is little loss. It is licensed though.

We have 3 pairs to play with.

1 pair could be used to link the Butte and Council Crest

Lots of FCC research needed before we turn these on.

• NigelBallrd found a typo in the web pages, static front page

• The next PTP ubernode will be in a undisclosed mall. It will do B and G, there will be 3 nodes and cover the whole mall.

• Jordin joins us from CityRepair Project cityrepair.org In 1996 they did up a free public space and the city let it stand even though it wasnt to code. After it was closed folks gathered in Sellwood and set up a gathering place which after some wrangling was accepted by the city. Because of this the city has enacted some laws allowing nieghborhoods to do cool projects. One of those projects was the TEa Horse. The Project help neighboorhoods building up projects. There is a definte interest for working with the PTP to building connected spaces and

• Greg joins us from the Town of Halsey. The town has 600 people with a central grain silo. The town wants to go wireless. They are fluid enough to be able to raise funds to get the infrastructure going. They lack easy access fiber and the only ISP covering the town has the lock on price. They are looking for a solution

• Capos is now the first node to take a stab at covering 3 bands, .B .A and Bluetooth. Nigle donated a Bluetooth<>802.11B and TomFitz is working to get it functional. If you have Bluetooth devices and want to head on down to ["Node491"] Capos and coordinate with TomFitz
