• Oregon Broadband Advisory Council (OBAC) is meeting immediately prior to this Weekly Meeting and indeed it nominally goes until 6pm, so Russell may be tardy, as he is going to try to attend OBAC

• Node notes:

  • Russell visited NodeMississippi, in particular the Mississippi Commons building, not having heard back from the building management. The door code I had from 22 months ago did not work. I did observe the unifi-mesh-ac still present on the roof, although the antennas had been reoriented a bit in the wind. Also observed www.personaltelco.net/ap6 was beaconing, was unable to connect. Maybe needs a reboot, or possibly the ethernet is disconnected.

  • Russell did not make it to NodeFreshPot

• Orange is fully updated, had some trouble with one of our logical volumes not being activated, took a little extra time to figure out what was wrong and fix it, also have remote console working.

• OBAC - short answer was they did not respond to Russell's public comment (documented and heard, acted on, who knows).
  • In person meeting happened in Ashland, Russell did read his comment into the online meeting, and pasted into the comments of the meeting.
  • Oct. 28th 5pm deadline for public comments on draft rules and workbooks.
  • Organizing meeting, had a quorum, not sure about August meeting
  • Elected chair (president of the Sherwood city council) from council
  • Previous member was from carriers and put themselves forward for chair
  • representative for public-at-large had resigned and vacancy sent back to governor's office
  • reports presented on previous work done
  • public comment period, ie cable trade and telecommunications trade, focused on having one set of rules, so states can use money in more lenient way than the federal rules (not advantageous to incumbents).
  • one comment implied that they'd like to allow individuals distribute to neighbors, not require partnership with telco.
  • $1.5M technical advisory fund, nonprofits are eligible, not sure if we meet the criteria, but could craft a pilot for an unserved area
  • new fcc broadband maps have been released to insiders, will be released to the public next month to open challenge period

  • NodeMississippi - old door code doesn't work, requested access last week, haven't heard back.

    • if ap6 is the unifi on the commons roof, may have lost a cable connection. Russell will try to connect via wireless to check on a reboot
