The ISM Band is an unlicensed publicly owned part of the radio spectrum in the 900MHz, 2.4GHz and 5GHz ranges. ISM stands for Instrumentation, Scientific, and Medical.
I've also heard it refered to as Industrial, Scientific and Medical. minor difference, eh? -e
