NodeFirstUnitarian -- on Friday and Saturday, work was done on the Bell Tower which we had lost contact with. On Friday, Russell investigated the ongoing outage to the Bell Tower roof, replaced the old WGT634U (ap1) with a WDR3600 (new ap1) and was perplexed in his inability to ping the roof device from ap1. He was able to ping ap2 from the PoE injector with his laptop. He did replace the PoE injector and that might have actually "fixed it", if temporarily. Afterwards, it was noted that the port going towards the Bell Tower (ap2, a Soekris net4826), was flapping a little, every few minutes we'd lose link and two seconds later it came back. On Saturday, JasonBergstrom accompanied Russell and even climbed on the roof. In the meantime, an intermediate WDR3600 (dubbed ap3) was plugged in near the PoE injector, both to extend signal, but also to move an ethernet transceiver closer to ap2. That seems to at least partially alleviated the flapping problem. We are going to watch it for a while before taking more dramatic action.
