RealTek cleared WECA endorsements (WiFi) for its 8180 chip in September of 2002 but the first product to use it (NKRCB200B) got an FCC clearance on the 21st of Jan 2003.
There is a beta Linux driver thusfar in binary form only available for download on the RealTek site. It's only for kernel 2.4.18-3 with RedHat extensions, though.
Update 03/13/2003. DLink was just cleared by FCC a design for the DWL-650 that uses the Realtek 8180.

Update 03/24/2003. I'm currently dealing with Realtek to get a GCC 3.X compiled version of their private module. So far, we had the latest release before this one was posted on their website 
I've asked for a 2.4.18-27.8.0 module, which is the latest RedHat kernel available.

Update 03/25/2003. Jerritt, so far, no clue. Apparently the won't. But a good part of it is composed of source files is their lastest release (05). Maybe with lots of demands they will go for it. I'll send an email to the person I'm dealing with to know a bit more about the full GPL driver and / or the specs. I'll keep you informed !
