Agenda
- Pick location for next weekly
This week is a hands-on working meeting, where we'll be helping the node host to configure a Routerboard device with Mikrotik to allow them to switch service to a different provider. If you know anything about Mikrotik or just want to help us figure it out, please come along. Note that the meeting is being held in a downtown residential building, so please contact Russell ahead of time if you plan to come, or just buzz "gates" (as in BenGates) at the front door to get in.

Notes
- Got tour of wireless facilities in building:
- Storage room, with telco stuff
- One wired mesh node in ground floor ceiling
- Two wired mesh nodes in roof penthouse
- Two unwired mesh nodes on each 6th, 4th and 2nd floors
- Unplugging Qwest DSL
- Ben had actually configured the Routerboard 750 (lives in the roof penthouse), but it wasn't working, apparently because the cat5 run to the ground floor was bad or not passing traffic for some reason
We noticed that the Stephouse WiMax PoE injector was just sitting right next to us, so we bypassed the run down to the ground floor and back, and *bang* everything started working.
- Ben's speedtest on a cat5 connection to the Routerboard was on the order of 20Mbps/10Mbps (smokin!)
- Into the 4 LAN ports on the Routerboard, we plugged the two mesh nodes in the roof penthouse, a run back down to the ground floor to connect the wired mesh node there, and a run to the Soekris. We noticed that the Soekris was not talking to emerson on the First Unitarian roof, apparently because it had crashed and needs a power-cycle.
- The Cornerstone mesh appeared to be back up and working
- We are trying to decide how we should connect the Soekris, whether it should backhaul through First Unitarian or Cornerstone. We might defer the decision on that until we upgrade the firmware (maybe to batman-adv'd openwrt, replacing the WDS link there now)
