• EFA proposal concerned with large social media platforms and content take-down
  • Russell concerned with endorsing "Santa Clara"... but we will still endorse

  • NodeSteele - Mailed Charlie, then Latitude, in the meantime user contacted Twitter post from user seeing "Xfinity" page

    • Admin contacted Comcast

  • NodeSunnyside - no contact so far

• OpenWRT - want to move to 4.14
  • MIPS would need to move to device tree, but it was incomplete - no PCI
    • Russell built for MIPS devices in his testbed

• Russell opened a CenturyLink Xyzel router

  • plugged into header can get limited shell, but not OS admin passwd - available firmware leaves password hash available

  • SeattleHamWan.org - used Mikrotik NV2 point to point TDMA

  • Can Portland connect to Larch Mountain Vancouver (southernmost)? In many places, yes.
  • Had repeater demo unit: point to point omni and uni, plus sector antenna 2' x 3x 120 degree
  • Could use ARDN (OpenWRT based) Seemed to be good too, but connect to Seattle group via Mikrotik
  • Seattle HamWAN interested in control of net/devices/upstream
• Network over amateur radio has restrictions to:
  • Cleartext
  • No commercial
  • Believe authentication can be passed encrypted
  • No active packet scanning or rule enforcement, has been entrusted to licensing of end users

• Ted mentioned PTP to people in Multnomah Village planning an ADU, no power until later, likely CenturyLink fiber

• Russell threatened to buy and take apart Calix, sales people put Russell on the NDA path
• End of month is deadline for city to do grants for ie Municipal Broadband, but maybe January?
• Monday Russell is talking with We Work at Pioneer Place about Municipal Broadband
• Desire is contracted/invoiced for a March start of evaluation
• Eudaly and Fish Chief of staff "concerned", in part due 5G competition
