Agenda
- Pick location for next weekly
- Node notes:
NodeMississippi -- Russell finally got the door codes and got access to Mississippi Commons. Russell did a reconnaissance on Monday evening, then came back with Ted on Tuesday early afternoon.
- 16-port 10/100 switch that interconnected the Rocket and Unifi AC Mesh on the roof of the building was unplugged (probably since September);
- Observed some intermittent operation of the switch ports, resulting in about 30% packet loss between the devices even after plugged back in;
- On Tuesday, Russell and Ted plugged in a new power supply, replacing the 12V 1.2A linear power supply that came with the Netgear switch;
- Continued to observe some flakiness with the Rocket's ethernet cable, replaced it with a 6-foot, slightly too short slimrun cable;
- Also installed a gigabit switch on top of the 16-port switch, and plugged both of our devices into it, with a patch cable (another shorter slimrun) to the old switch;
- None of the other ports in the 16-port switch had a link, implying no one in the building is using the free internet that is now available;
- Noticed that the port associated with the Rocket was amber, indicating a 100Mbps link speed, confirmed later that the Rocket's ethernet is limited to 100Mbps;
- Locked the closet on the way out;
Walked down to NodeFreshPot and diagnosed the Alix there:
- bad power supply, replaced
- Drew a diagram for Ted of the network topology;
- Noticed that various links were flakey, notice that some devices were missing:
Recruited Aaron to fly a drone over the Ballroom roof sometime soon to investigate the disposition of our NanoLoco's, Russell suspects the many years of UV might have broken the zipties holding them on the masts, maybe an opportunity to finally replace them.
- We expect to hear news on our ARPA Grant Applications later this week, possibly Thursday or Friday.

Notes
DonPark forwarded location with multiple LTE antennas on the roof off Powell
CenturyLink "price for life" is said to be going up $10/mo
- Node notes:
NodeFreshPot - replaced dead 1A 12v power supply
RussellSenior created net diagram for TedBrunner
NodeMississippi - rooftop access point on commons building not accessible since September
CityHouses contacted for access, has been same company since 2005, would have all of their tentants connect via our network, but no recent use
- Richard texted Russell door codes, had changed since 2020
- Network switch had been unplugged, plugged in, but only working intermittently, about 29% packet loss, replaced power supply and ethernet cables (which also had a loose connector)
- Replaced our links on the switch with a gigabit switch connected to the old switch in case the building needed it, may want to replace cable with dressed longer connection and mount GB switch to wall
Connection from NodeFreshPot to alix on Ballroom was flaky
- Sokreis in SW corner was reachable, but upstream was flaky, building and trees in the way
- Netgear Widget in laundry accessible
NW NanoLoco, may have fallen off mast due to zip tie failure but also non-responsive, same with SE corner (though that was operational)
- Asked Aaron about flying over to have overhead video of device status
- If we do maintenance on the ballroom roof, they'd like to be in attendance to let us in, but we do have access too
NodeBeulahLand - Russell and Ted had gone a while back to look around, should replace SkyPilots, one may have fallen over. Also remove SkyPilot at NodeArborLodge
- Grant committee meets Thursday to make final decision on proposals, then city needs to approve
- Annapurna would require coverage (~$400)
- Next week's meeting is at Steeplejack on Broadway and 24th.
