Agenda

  • Pick location for next weekly, the one Russell forgot about from November
  • Node notes (since November):
    • NodeKeegan -- back online

    • NodeMatt -- back online

    • NodeArborLodge -- had two outages, one due to the ethernet to the roof falling out of the PoE injector, and the second was some kind of software bug that hung our gateway devce with a kernel panic (a power cycle fixed it).

    • NodeWygant -- lost contact Tuesday morning, Jan 3, tenants rebooted, no peeps, contacted property managers to see if ISP connection is still hot

    • NodePatch -- recently upgraded to CL fiber, Russell provided an APU1 for a gateway, using a Buffalo WZR600DHP as a "dumb AP", though somewhat trickily using vlans to separate public and private wifi networks to the gateway, possible (or at least easier) because the WZR600DHP has an ethernet interface (eth1) that does not traverse the switch. switches use vlans and so tags can get stripped on egress

    • NodeCascadia had an outage in December, but they'd fixed it themselves before Russell saw the message

    • NodeRerun is offline for 10 days for remodeling, they are expected back.

    • NodeFirstUnitarian extension has become, for the time being, a primarily client-mode extension, only. That is, the user has purchased a radio, is planning to glass/suction-cup mount it to avoid penetrations or trouble from the building management. Russell has offered to provide a compatible firmware image and a surplus WGT634U for their local access use.

    • NodeHayduke, NodeGreenNoise and NodeCoalition are candidates for MR24's, no progress made on this yet.

Notes

  • Node Notes:
    • Nodes Keegan and Matt are plugged in.
    • NodeArborLodge was offline due possibly to work in the garage that knocked out the ethernet to the AP.

      • This uncovered a user (one week later, and one block west of Atlantic).
    • NodeWygant - Comcast service may have cut service due to new service elsewhere on same phone number. Charlie (VZA) + tenants

    • NodePatch - Russell sold Michael an APU1, VLAN enabled over single physical net connection to AP.

  • Next week's meeting is 34th and Bel
