Maintenance and System Log
2007-08-22: Rooftop gear decomissioned as I'm moving to BoulderColorado. I'm selling the gear to StefanMintier with the understanding that he'll use it to make a node somewhere else. This node operated for more than three years, served hundreds of distinct users, including nearly a dozen daily users (my neighbors). An actiontek modem will continue to serve free WiFi on the essid www.personaltelco.net/tmp for the forseeable future. However, I probably won't update this page when that goes away. -- CalebPhillips
2006-07-23: Replaced ghetto hardware with a MetrixMarkI using Pyramid and wifidog. Currently using an atheros radio borrowed from the MississippiGrantProject because the shipped Prism2.5 radio no-workie. Looking into getting this replaced. Seems to work great! -- CalebPhillips
2006-04-20: Moved to 10.11.49.192/26 for address space to fit in with NetworkAddressAllocations.
2006-01-18: Firmware upgrade appears to have fixed long running instability - node is consistently up now. Repeater system has been down, and will continue to be down while I utilize my WRT54g for other endeavors. -- CalebPhillips
2005-11-15: Upgraded the firmware for my MA311 and it seems to be working better now. Node was down a little bit today, but is back up now. Also, the repeater is not currently broadcasting because I have harvested one of its compnents for another project (temporarily). -- CalebPhillips
2005-10-08: Been having some trouble with the MA311, seems to just stop responding randomly. A wicontrol fixes it (with errors in the messages log). Still working on a solution (seems like it might be related to a bug in the Netgear firmware). In the interim, be warned that the node is up-and-down. -- CalebPhillips
2005-09-24: Created this page ala KeeganQuinns changes to NodeTemplate based on NodeAudit. AP and Repeater are functional. -- CalebPhillips
